Information about the electricity supply situation, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) said that in July the electricity output of the entire system reached 26.20 billion kWh, an increase of 7.1% over the same period in 2022. Of which, the electricity output mobilized from renewable energy sources reached 22.11 billion kWh, accounting for 13.8% (of which solar power reached 15.48 billion kWh, wind power reached 6.06 billion kWh).
Information about the electricity supply situation, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) said that in July the electricity output of the entire system reached 26.20 billion kWh, an increase of 7.1% over the same period in 2022.
Cumulatively in the first 7 months of the year, the entire system's electricity output reached 160.58 billion kWh, up 1.9% over the same period in 2022. Of the total system output, Hydropower reached 36.80 billion kWh. billion kWh, accounting for 22.9%; Coal thermal power reached 79.95 billion kWh, accounting for 49.8%; Gas turbines reached 18.01 billion kWh, accounting for 11.2%; Oil thermal power reached 1.23 billion kWh, accounting for 0.8%; Imported electricity: 2.22 billion kWh, accounting for 1.4%.
Notably, in the first 7 months of 2023, renewable energy electricity output reached 22.11 billion kWh, accounting for 13.8% (of which solar power reached 15.48 billion kWh, wind power reached 6.06 billion kWh ).
Regarding the status of implementing procedures for transitional renewable energy projects: By August 1, 2023, there were 74/85 transitional renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 3,999.86 MW submitted. documents for the Electricity Trading Company to negotiate electricity prices and electricity purchase contracts; Of which, 62 projects (total capacity of 3,399.41 MW) have proposed a temporary price equal to 50% of the ceiling price of the price bracket (according to Decision No. 21/QD-BCT dated January 7, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade). EVN and the investor have completed price negotiations and initialed PPA contracts with 59/62 projects. There have been 58 transitional renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 3,181.41 MW approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with temporary prices; There are 17 factories/parts of factories with a total capacity of 859.52 MW that have completed COD procedures and can generate commercial electricity to the grid. Of these, 21 projects have had their works/parts of works accepted by competent State management agencies; 30 projects have been granted electricity operation licenses for the entire factory/part of the factory; 38 projects have decided to extend their investment policies. There are still 11 projects with a total capacity of 734.70MW that have not yet submitted negotiation documents.
The accumulated electricity output of transitional renewable energy projects from COD to July 21, 2023 reaches about 211.7 million kWh; Of which, the average daily electricity output is about 3.2 million kWh, accounting for about 0.4% of the total mobilized power output.
According to weather trends from the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, in August 2023, heat waves will continue to appear mixed with localized rain in the North. In the Central region, hot weather is likely to last in the first half of the month, with days of intense heat possible; The Central Highlands and Southern regions will see many days of showers and thunderstorms. The average temperature across the country is generally 0.5-1.0 degrees Celsius higher than the average for many years during the same period.
In August 2023, the average daily electricity consumption of the entire system is expected to be at 825.8 million kWh/day, an increase of 7.3% over the same period in 2022. The electricity supply situation in August is expected continues to be guaranteed.
System operation goal: For hydropower, the main flood season has entered, so it is necessary to forecast and closely monitor water flow to hydropower reservoirs to have a flexible daily exploitation strategy. For coal thermal power and gas turbines: Mobilize appropriately with the water situation in hydropower reservoirs during the main flood season, avoid excess discharge; However, be ready to mobilize coal-fired power units and gas turbines in case it is necessary to store water soon. Ensure reserve oil thermal power to be ready for mobilization in case of need.
Regarding investment in power source construction: Concentrate resources, accelerate construction progress of Quang Trach I Thermal Power projects; Expanded Hoa Binh, Expanded Ialy, Expanded Tri An Hydropower projects; Bac Ai pumped storage hydropower plant. Regarding the power grid: Approval of investment policy/adjustment of investment policy for projects on the 500kV line Quang Trach (Quang Binh) - Pho Noi (Hung Yen); resolve the handover of construction sites for 500kV Vinh Yen and 220kV Ba Thien transformer stations; Resolve problems related to site clearance of the 500kV Song Hau - Duc Hoa line; energizing the circuit of 2 220kV Doc Soi - Quang Ngai lines...
To reduce difficulties in operating the power system, EVN hopes to continue to receive the sharing and active coordination of people, offices, and manufacturing enterprises in using electricity safely and effectively. Savings during peak lunch hours (from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), peak evening hours (from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.); At the same time, pay attention to the appropriate use of air conditioning (set at 26 - 27 degrees or higher, used in combination with fans) and do not use many high-capacity electrical appliances at the same time...
